Are you interested in transcription from home? This is a growing industry with plenty of demand. Which is a main reason why so many people are interested in and looking for work from home transcription jobs.

Here are some popular and some not so popular transcription companies that have jobs for beginners which is perfect if you’re just starting out and have no experience yet.
Work From Home Transcription Jobs For Beginners
This is a popular transcription company. However, they’re on the lower end for the pay, which is about $10/audio hour. They pay you using PayPal. The process is pretty simple as well, you just have to take a transcription test and once you’re accepted you can look for work!
Rev is another company that has some remote transcription jobs for beginners. You also have to go through and pass a transcription test before you receive work though.
Here is another popular and well-known option for online transcription jobs. Their pay rate is about $0.25 to $0.50 per transcribed word and you get paid via PayPal. As with other companies you also have to take a transcription test. The only downside is you also have to pay $15 so they can have perform a background check on you.
This company will hire people with no experience for transcription from home services. Their pay is around $20/audio hour and you can get it through either by check or PayPal.
For this transcription company, you must be pretty fluent in English to work for them. They hire part-time and full-time transcribers for general and medical transcription work. They will also provide you with a work schedule based on your availability input.
This is another company that hires beginners for transcription services. You just fill out an application and take some transcription assessments to qualify.
The pay isn’t too great, but they hire everyone from around the world and you can work at home in your free time, there’s no schedule.
Birch Creek Communications
Here’s another business hiring for online transcription jobs for beginners. They do hire a lot of legal and corporate transcriptionists however, you don’t need years of experience to get into these areas which can be tough at most other places.
To get started, you send them an email for interest and go through an application process. They don’t have a set pay rate as it depends on different factors like the type of transcription job and such.
Crowdsurf is another service that offers remote transcription jobs for beginners. You can do transcription or captioning tasks for pay.
They list their jobs on a platform called MTurk, which I will talk about at the end of this article.
This is another beginner friendly option for online transcription jobs. You can work at home on your own schedule with this one too since they post their listings on MTurk as well.
To start transcribing, you register online and take a transcription assessment to better understand their process.

Another company that offers online transcription jobs for newbies to work from home is Daily Transcription. They work on legal and educational transcription. Their pay range is about $0.75 to $1.10 for each minute of transcribed video.
This is a more consistent company as far as openings for transcription jobs for beginners go. Though because of their consistency, they require commitment of atleast 60 minutes of transcribed audio per day to even be considered.
You simply apply online and take an audio test to work there. Plus, if you speak Spanish they have transcription jobs for that too!
3 Play Media
This company prefers you to have some experience and be skilled in excel. There are some other basic requirements as well and you must pass some assessments testing your efficiency and such to get work. However, they do have some transcription jobs for beginners.
Here’s yet another company that doesn’t require previous typing experience making it ideal for beginners looking for transcription jobs.
You can provide transcription in legal and entertainment areas for them. To start working for this company you must send your resume via email to see if you qualify.
You can find beginner transciption jobs with TigerFish as well. You apply and there’s 3 assessments you will need to pass to qualify. The hours are flexible, however, they may give you a lot of work.
Transcriptions ‘N’ Translations
This is a pretty unique transcription company. You can have the opportunity to transcribe audio/video files for TV channels like Discovery and Animal Planet.
You can apply by submitting your resume on their website. You will also have to pass a transcription assessment to work for them.
Ubiqus is a company that offers many services jobs making it great for people looking at transcription jobs for beginners. Your pay increases as you get better and you can also receive more work if you can complete your assigned transcripts the same or the next day.
To work for them you’ll have to go through their application to see if you qualify.
Another great company offering remote transcription jobs for beginners is Verbal Ink. To qualify, you must submit a resume and cover letter as well as pass their transcription test, which may be pretty difficult for some.

This is a great website for freelancers in general. You simply sign up for their website and fill out your profile, which includes which services you provide and are interested in.
From there you can find work from anyone needing a service that you provide and if they decide to go with you!
This is another one of Amazon’s project, MTurk. It’s a website where people can make some extra cash from doing short tasks.
Some of the transcription companies that were included in the list actually provide work through Amazon MTurk.
That pretty much covers it for transcription companies that have jobs for beginners! It may be a lot to work for, so I don’t recommend applying everywhere. Maybe find a few that you think would fit well with you and your lifestyle and go from there.
Track your progress and if you think you can do better with another company then give it shot, but I recommend you try to do what you think you can handle at first.
